Afzal Akramisthe Founder and Chairman of Conservative Friends of Small Business (CFoSB). He has over 20 years of experience in business, having started and then sold 2 businesses in insurance and training. Afzal is a firm believer of giving back to the community and so over the past 25 years he has sat on many Government/Public Sector Boards, advising Ministers, influencing policy and over-seeing the delivery of public sector services.

These include:
• Chairman of a London NHS Primary Care Trust (2008-2013)
• Chairman of Business Link 4 London (2000-2008)
• Deputy Chairman of a Learning & Skills Council (2000-2008)
• Advisor through EMBF to the Secretary of State for DTI (2005-2007)
• Chairman of London East Asian Business Association(1991 – 2006)
Currently Afzal is in his 9th year as an elected Councillor and is employed by CCHQ as a Voluntary Party Manager.
